Meet the Poet BabiesHow did we become Poet Babies and why are we on a mission? We were regular people, just like the ones all around you, working on getting ahead, doing the errands and enjoying ourselves. And then it happened: crash! cough! thunk! ewww… We died. It was all quite sad, but everyone goes sometime, and when we did each of us expected that quick trip to heaven, the great beyond (or wherever it is you’re aiming for). But – boy, howdy – did we get a surprise! Turns out none of us were all that good. We weren’t criminals, but we were consistently bad in the ways most people are only occasionally: we thought about ourselves too much and others too little; we cherished titles and status; we judged friends by what they owned; we shrugged off the tasks of making things better. Each of us failed to follow one of life’s basic rules. Lucky for us, it’s never too late to change. We’ve been sent back as Poet Babies, each with a unique lesson to learn based on the failings of our prior life. And our only way to show that we’ve really taken these lessons to heart, to escape these baby bodies and move on up, is to teach them to others.
